Easy to grow, without pests or diseases, this African Agapanthus can reach up to 80 cm in height and 50 cm in width.
Thrives in full sun in fertile, moist, well-drained soil. In warm climates, Agapanthus will grow best in partial shade. Keep in mind that most varieties will tend to lean toward the sun, making a south-facing border the best location. Do not allow plants to dry out except during dormancy.
Spectacular when planted in large areas, this Agapanthus will suit most garden or mixed border designs, makes a fantastic accent plant in pots, and makes excellent cut flowers! An excellent choice for coastal areas as African Agapanthus tolerate windy, salty air well.
Resistant to deer and rabbits, it attracts butterflies, bees and birds.
In late fall, remove or clean off any remaining leaves, but leave the seed heads as they are attractive in winter.
Propagate by division every three to four years in spring.
Agapanthus is native to South Africa.
